Baseball season is just around the corner and that means it's time to invite you to participate in Mentoring Night at Fenway Park! This year's event is on May 17 at 7 p.m., against the Baltimore Orioles. More than 700 mentors and mentees from across the state will get to experience the thrill of a Red Sox game at Fenway, many for the first time. It is also a chance for all of us to heighten the awareness and impact of mentoring through the partnership of the Red Sox and various media entities. Please read the following information on how to get tickets, important deadlines and program eligibility.

To participate in Mentoring Night, programs must be members through MMP's Quality-Based Membership (QBM) program. QBM is our quality-standards assessment program that allows mentoring agencies to benchmark their practices against national standards for reaching optimal outcomes for youth.   

When determining the number of tickets that programs receive, MMP considers both the number of active matches programs serve and their level of membership with MMP. In addition, programs at the Partner level, the highest level of membership, are given the opportunity to nominate mentees for Mentoring Night pregame activities, including throwing out the first pitch, saying "play ball" and serving as the game's ceremonial Bat Boy and Girl.  If you are unsure of your program's membership level, please contact Linda Peterson, manager of training and technical assistance, at lpeterson@massmentors.org or 617.695.2436.

Please remember that these tickets are intended to be used for a select number of matches you want to reward, and will not meet the needs of your entire program. If your organization runs mentoring programs in multiple sites, you are being invited as one program and you must decide how to allocate those tickets.

How do I request tickets for my program?

1. In order to receive tickets and t-shirts for the event, please fill out the online agreement form.  All requests must be received by Noon, Monday April 4.
2. e will notify you on Friday, April 8 with your program's ticket allotment. You will need to have EACH program participant who is attending fill out a photo release. If MMP already has photo releases on file for certain participants, please let us know. Photo releases should be mailed or faxed to MMP at 617-695-2435, attn: Lauren Dean, by Friday, May 13.  If your mentors or mentees do not wish to have their pictures taken at the game, please let them know it is their responsibility to alert the MMP photographer at the time the pictures are about to be taken.  
3. Ticket and t-shirt pick-up: programs will need to pick up their tickets and t-shirts. We will notify you of your pick-up date and place at a later date.
