Sunny, warm weather and the participation of almost 100 mentors, mentees and program staff helped make our first June Jamboree a great success!

The field-day activity was held on the soccer field and track at Framingham State College and marked the first time that MMP has hosted such an event for mentors and mentees from across the state. 

Participants enjoyed kickball games, an obstacle course, relay races, water balloon tosses, face painting, arts and crafts, board games and a dance competition. Tickets to the Museum of Science were given to several raffle winners, and Shauntina, age 9, from Sociedad Latina, won a pair of Red Sox tickets from the grand raffle drawing. The inaugural corps of the Americorps Ambassadors of Mentoring put together the entire event, and the great turnout and feedback has encouraged the corps to try to implement this as an annual event.
