In this three-hour training, explore the unique challenges, assets and risks for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning) youth. Participants will develop the skills to build a safe environment at your program and support adults in empowering relationships with LGBTQ youth. Through this training, staff will understand that efforts to be inclusive and supportive of LGBTQ youth will benefit all youth.
You’ll walk away with the ability to:
- Structure programming and prepare your mentors to be supportive of youth who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning.
- Understand some of the experiences that LGBTQ youth face
- Prepare adults and your community to be more supportive and inclusive
