Chronicle and mentoring

Generations Incorporated: Trains older adults to help low-income children who are struggling to read. Mentors are placed in teams into public schools and afterschool programs to serve students in grades K-5.

Big Brother Big Sister Massachusetts Bay & Big Sister Association of Greater Boston: For school-based mentoring, Bigs meet Littles in the school during lunch or after school. Programs run jointly in the schools, and both organizations run additional programs including a community-based mentoring model. Bigs interested in meeting with a child after-school or during lunch at a school site conveniently located to them can join school-based mentoring. Bigs who are interested in mentoring a child in the community can join the community-based mentoring programs. Men can contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay and women should contact Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.

Friends of the Children Boston:
Pairs children who are facing and reacting to at-risk conditions (achievers) with a professional mentor for 12 years, beginning in first grade and continuing through high school graduation.

TAG-PANAS: Matches Boston Public School Latino students with professional Latino mentors based on their desired career, field of study, and/or personalities.
