Red Sox Mentoring Challenge

Since 2005, Mass Mentoring Partnership has teamed up with the Boston Red Sox for the Red Sox RSMC banner 2011Mentoring Challenge, an initiative designed to recruit more caring Massachusetts adults as mentors. At the helm as honorary campaign chairman is NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell, who serves on the board of MENTOR.

Right now more than 3,000 kids are waiting for mentors in the Commonwealth, but the Challenge has helped to reduce the gap. More than 1,200 prospective mentors from across the Commonwealth have been identified through the Challenge, and of those, it’s estimated that more than 350 adults have been matched with a child.

Resources for program partners

For the first time, MMP is offering program partners the opportunity to request small, one-time seed money to help your program leverage the campaign through events, media buys or other creative opportunities. Small grants of up to $500 are available. If you would like to apply for such funding, or if you need specific campaign materials, such as bookmarks, t-shirts or stress balls, please complete  this form and email it to  Nicole Cleckley or fax it to her attention at 617.695.2435.
